Now That It's Over

Now that it’s over is a multi-media piece that explores the emotional rollercoaster that is the end of a long-term relationship. Using found imagery, text, medium format, digital photography and moving image, this piece is a personal narrative about losing oneself in another, and having to find yourself again on your own. The idea of a soulmate and its inconsistencies is also subtly studied, how within a heteronormative monogamous society, we are taught to give up our whole identity to become a half of another. The intensity of adolescence bleeds into the cracks of an adult relationship that was too intense to last. Now that it’s over is about grief, but it is also about rebirth.
